Who are we?
The Big Red Fleet Company is an
organisation that has been created to meet the growing
demand for formal training and education of employees who
are required to drive vehicles as part of their
employment.
This demand has come about in response to
the increasing costs companies are incurring as a result
of accidents involving their employees and vehicles on
todays busy roads. In addition the Health and
Safety Executive has recognised driving at work as the
single largest cause of injuries and fatalities in the
workplace, and has recently issued guidelines to all
employers on how to minimise the risk of such events
occurring.
The Big Red Fleet Company is unique in
recognising that safer driving is not only a function of
skills training, but also a result of educating road
users on the impact their attitude and behaviour can have
on the safety of themselves and others around them. As a
result our training and education programme combines both
driving skill based and behavioural elements to provide a
more holistic solution to clients
Our Mission
To provide training and education that
directly reduces the risk to employees of incurring
injury as a result of accidents whilst driving at work,
and reduces the cost to employers arising from these
accidents.

Its all about attitude!
A one-day workshop aimed at improving the
safety of any employee involved in driving as part of
their work. The workshop comprises 2 sections looking at
the skills required to drive safely, and how attitudes
and behaviours can compromise or complement these skills.
Workshop Part 1
Interactive Seminar
Delivered by Hugh Rawlings this workshop looks at
how behaviour, attitude and stress can cause bad
driving and how we, as drivers, can take responsibility
for changing the way we approach the driving experience.
Presented in a challenging
and thought-provoking manner, this session
encourages participants to critically
assess their own driving skills and identify
those things they need to change. As part of the workshop
participants will learn techniques that will help them
make these personal changes and become safer drivers.
Workshop
Part 2 - In-car

designed to help put into practice some of the techniques
learned on the seminar.
Typically this would include:
Pre-drive checks; self and vehicle.
Route planning; avoiding stressful junctions, timing of
journey, reducing right turns.
Development of practical driving skills; correct use of
controls.
