Show Me, Tell Me - Tyres

Tyres    

 
Built in tread wear indicator When the tyre wears down to this level - 1.6 mm it is time to change the tyre.  NOTE - this is the MINIMUM  legal level.

(Across the central 3/4 of the breadth of the tread and around the entire circumference.)

You are liable to a fine of £2,500 (max) and 3 penalty points. (per tyre). (4 x £2,500 = £10,000)
Also discretionary disqualification from driving.

At least every week check the tyre pressure. Don't forget the spare.

You can find the pressures in the car handbook.

Incorrect tyre pressure may adversely affect tyre life and vehicle handling.

Tyre pressure should be checked when the tyres are cold.

The tyre should be in good condition.   No cuts or bulges or signs of uneven wear or damage,
