All
lights and lenses must be clean and in good working order even during
daylight hours. They must be correctly adjusted in order they do not
dazzle other road users.
The
DSA Manual (driving - the essential skills) advises that lights should
be checked before any journey and especially during long journeys and
that any lighting fault should be fixed immediately. To this end it is
advised that all vehicles should carry a spare set of bulbs.
If
your car has a headlight adjuster you should know where it is, what it
is for, plus how and when to use it.
