Show Me, Tell Me - Engine Coolant

Engine Coolant (Radiator)

NEVER remove the filler cap when the engine is HOT

Coolant level should be checked regularly.
The coolant level should be between the MIN and MAX mark when the engine is cold. Hot coolant expands and may, therefore, extend beyond the MAX mark.
Serious scalding could be caused by the hot fluid under high pressure escaping from the tank
To open turn one quarter turn to allow any pressure to escape wait a moment the slowly open fully.

Top up to the Max mark with recommended water/coolant mix (see hand book).

Replace cap
